Biography :

BAHIMIRON, a Crowleyian term for BESTIAL, was an ideal conjured by GRIMLORD in the mid 90s to capture a more hateful, blackened essence…. . At the time he was the spearhead for satanic death metal assault IMPRECATION in the form of vocals. Different members were added and deleted on a regular basis, and due to a lack of interest, the band died for some time…
2001 - GRIMLORD decided it was time for a rebirthing. With that, the band was formed in 2002. The first demonstration tape, “Funeral Black” was released in December 2002, and has been circulated in Europe and some al queda support networks in the US.
In February 2003, BAHIMIRON decided to do a live rehearsal recording because of the obvious musical advances the band feels it has made. RAW and abrasive, “TERRORDIVSION BLOODSTRIKE REH 2.4.2003” holds 5 songs consisting of the demo tracks and two newer tracks.
With that, BFD offered the release of an EP in the summer of 2003.. however, due to unforeseen events the release took place in summer of 2004 and with the assistance of Regimental Records...
Most recently, BAHIMIRON has been approached by a certain Finnish horde (that we greatly bloodlet to) for a possible split in the next year… nothing for sure.. we'll see.. BAHIMIRON has played live with bands such as ABAZAGORATH, DEMONCY, AVERSE SEFIRA, CRIMSON MASSACRE, THORNSPAWN, DEMONHAMMER, ADUMUS and others.

I must confess that these American where out of my knowledge. It was a pleasant surprise though. Angry Black Metal with high-pitched vocals and war-like compositions that get launched in supersonic speed. They have nice riffs that bring MARDUK in mind, but every now and then they reminded me a bit of the old NECROMASS, in the whole atmosphere and feeling of paranoia and multiple vocals that scream in some parts. They slow down when they must and “let you rest” with the vocals being the main sound in different variations and war cries. I really liked the self titled song “Pure Negativism”, with its razor-like riffs. They mostly play fast and their advantage is their vocals that are demonized! So here we have another Black Metal release that is worth the money. They have also done a split 7” with SARGEIST.

Buy it!

I haven's had good feelings about this CD - especially after a contact with BAHIMIRON's labelmates, BEKHIRA - who suck, by the way. But luckily this US horde (BAHIMIRON) has mutilated by corpse quite nicely, with quality black metal worship. Yeah, BAHIMIRON is a fine example for solid US black metal horde. They deliver an uncompromising dose of negative energy in form of traditional black metal. It may be taking some influences from the old Scandinavian scene (GORGOROTH, anyone???), but at the same time it also reaches for the infernal bloodshed of bands like BLACK WITCHERY, ABAZAGORATH, THORNSPAWN. This music is damn fast and unrelentless, with rather simple, but not primitive structure, based on strong, straight forward, not very original, but easily memorable compositions. The most effective manslaughter one could get while playing fast as hell, screaming the guts out in the Satan's name, and so BAHIMIRON does. Of course if you'll strip this music down, you'll notice some occasional mid-paced fragments as well, riffs and ideas, which nicely vary this piece and safe it from not being monotonous and one dimensional. And as usual, it works fine, such tracks as "Terror Divizion Bloodstrike" are a great nail in the Jesus Smellus' cross, bit similar to GORGOROTH and old MAYHEM ("Wolves to the Flesh of Heaven").
S o "Pure Negativism" is a good offer for every black maniac, who hasn't started to listen to that kind of music when CRADLE OF FART has released their recent CD.

While reading the myspace of Bahimiron it became clear to me that we are dealing with quite a kvlty band. Bahimiron are a malignant vile whiskey drenched hate squad, composed of 10-15 year veterans of the black metal scenes in Texas and in France. The black metal of Bahimiron is led by someone called Grimlord, who chose the rest of the band by hand to lead the attack on unsoiled black metal and bands with a virtuous nature so they say. So you would think that this band is quite something right?
No way, its just a hillbilly black metal band from Texas who stole some bass player from France. The black metal performed by these people is clearly influenced by Gorgoroth’s older work, but it is just not good enough. They are not even close to the overwhelming atmosphere that Gorgoroth brought us with ‘Destroyer’. Even worse, this band tries too hard at being evil, which makes it kind of hard for me to take them serious.
The music has its moments but when I read stuff like ‘it sounds like a wall of fuggin noize, like the kind you hear before getting gang raped in prison’ at the same time it just ruins it for me. If you are a fan of the old Gorgoroth you can try this out but I warn you, it is a lousy replacement.

This band seems to be a very prolific one, this work is their first full length album, but it’s the third work they release this year. Musically the band delivers here a brutal slab of pure Black Metal somewhat inclined toward the early 90’s tradition, or at least a little more traditional sounding than showed at their split album with Teratism. Bahimiron seems to have left here a little (just a little) of its ultra-chaotic approach and focused its atmospheres in a more “old school” sound. The ultra blurry guitars are now, quite more “depurated”, but still brutal as hell, the mid tuned guitars are still the main responsible here for the blurry and chaotic aura; the lead guitar contributes with some sharpened, electric and strident lines. The bass work of Mrs. JenOside is much more present than before, adding negative low vibes to the whole apocalyptic panorama. The blasting passages still reigns supreme over this album, but the drumming sounds pretty versatile, with a notorious bass drum sound, which gives a muscular, profound sound that perfectly fits with the bass work. The infernal voices of Grimlord are an undisputable highlight, his possessed shrieks are just fucking great, mixing some ripping mid to low tuned grunts with high hellish shrieks delivers an incredibly blasphemous feeling. This album consist in 9 tracks clocked at 34 minutes of pure sonic blasphemy, but the promo version I received also contains a bonus track, “The Raping Of Flesh” which is actually only available on the Split 7” EP with Sargeist, this track is a little rawer than the previous ones, I also recommend you to check this song out. This album reminded me the early works of Mayhem and Gorgoroth, with their particular way to conjugate bestiality and speed, always accompanied by a hellish and obscure feeling. The whole productions here, is quite depurated and strong sounding, but raw enough to maintain the dirty and infernal sound their chaotic music requires. “Pure Negativism: In Allegiance with Self Wreckage” is, as the title may suggest, a bestial piece of hate fuelled Black Metal in the finest vein… Strongly recommended. The year 2006 was quite a busy year for Bahimiron. Not only did they release a split with Teratism and a 7” split with Sargeist, they also released their first full length “Pure Negativism: In Allegiance With Self Wreckage” through Aura Mystique Productions. The opinions are quite diverse on this album. Either the human being is quite fond of the early 1990s black metal worship or it is has been bashed because of that worship. Still, the album does have the essential ingredients (think of the riffs, speed and atmosphere) to get an “Early Gorgoroth” label slapped on the cover.
